Overview

ZeroTax Plan is an educational tax-planning tool. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it lives, and the controls you have over it.

Where your financial inputs are stored

If you use the app without an account, your income figures, deductions, liability estimates, saved scenarios, uploaded documents, and settings stay in your own browser's storage on your device.

If you sign in, the same information is also saved to your account on our hosted backend so it follows you between devices. Access is restricted by row-level security rules so only you — and, where you request help, an assigned advisor or administrator — can read your records.

Shared plan links encode your inputs directly in the URL. Anyone you send the link to can read those values — treat share links as private.

Account information

Creating an account stores your email address, and optionally your name, so we can authenticate you and contact you about your requests. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Signing in with Google shares your email address and basic profile details with us; it does not give us access to any other Google data.

Analytics

The app records product-usage events (for example, which features are opened), identified by a random session ID. No financial values are attached to analytics events.

For signed-in users these events are also linked to your account so we can understand how the product is used. You can view every recorded event on the Insights page and clear the local queue at any time from Settings.

Support and consultation requests

When you submit a support ticket or request a consultation, the details you enter (name, email, message, preferred time) are stored with your request history and — when you are signed in — shared with the advisors and administrators who follow up with you.

Where email notifications are enabled, these details are sent through our email provider solely to deliver those messages.

Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, tax records, scenarios, documents, requests, and analytics events from our systems.

Local browser data persists until you clear it from Settings or clear your browser's site data.

Your controls

Export everything: the Settings page provides a one-click JSON export of your account data and everything stored in your browser.

Delete everything: the same page offers account deletion as well as a full local data reset.

Clearing your browser's site data removes the local copy only; use account deletion to remove the hosted copy.

No sale of data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial information with third parties for marketing purposes.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Questions can be raised through the Help page.
